Privacy and data retention

Turn on zero data retention so Brevidy deletes your media and transcripts from its servers soon after each job.

With zero data retention on, the audio, video and transcripts from your caption, AutoCut and AutoCrop jobs are deleted from Brevidy's servers within an hour of each job finishing. Brevidy's transcription and AI providers don't keep them either.

Turn on zero data retention#

  1. Go to brevidy.pro/dashboard/account.
  2. In the Zero data retention card, turn the switch on.

It applies to jobs you start from then on. To have older data removed, contact support.

Teams: an admin can turn it on for the whole team at brevidy.pro/organization. Members then see Required by <team name> and can't turn it off.

What's kept#

  • Billing and usage records (job length, minutes used, dates).
  • Saved transcripts on your computer, until you use Clear Transcript Cache.
  • Caption data in the .brevidy folder next to your project.

Good to know#

  • Results can differ slightly, because Brevidy then only uses services that don't keep your data.
  • Translation may be unavailable. If so, Brevidy says so and nothing is charged.
  • Copy diagnostics is safe to share. It has no file names, paths or transcript text.
  • More detail: privacy policy, data processing agreement, subprocessors and security.
